Historic CARMEL VALLEY GUIDE
The first annual Historic CARMEL VALLEY GUIDE 2004-2005 was conceived, designd
and publishedbased on research, topographically enchanced maps of Carmel Valley, with historical
photography from thePat HathawayHistorical Photo collection and the Monerey County Historical Society.
It includes galleriesof business services, by category, that serve the residential and visitor markets
of Carmel Valley. 64 pages, full color, distributed free throughout the Monterey Peninsula.

Oldtown Salinas Values Book

Based on the 18 issues (1995 -2003) of the Cannery Row Coupon Book of Values,
designed and published for Cannery Row Company tenant businesses in Monterey's<>
historic Cannery Row district by Michael K. Hemp, The History Company published
a similar value-based retail driven coupon book, with heritage as its design image, for<>
the retail businesses of historic Oldtown Salinas—John Steinbeck's home town.

Starbucks Coffee Company, Cannery Row
Twenty-seven large format black and white photos from the Robert Lewis Collection
of Cannery Row Photography 1957-1958, and the c.1938 Ted McKay aerial photo of the
"Steinbeck Neighborhood" from the Pat Hathaway Collection of California Views,
now permanently grace the walls of Cannery Row's newest business.
Accompanying each group of photos is a caption cardwhich identifies
and provides background information on each photo subject.
 

The Robert Lewis Exhibit of Cannery Row Photography 1967 -1958
A five year project with the artist resulting in the annual exhibit for 2000 -2001
at the Maritime Museum of Monterey / Monterey History and Art Association.
A book with hundreds of the Lewis Collection photos is planned for 2002.

Historical consultant to Woodside Hotels & Resorts, developers of
the Monterey Peninsula Hotel, the last hotel to be built in Monterey.
 

Cannery Row Historical Signage
Historical and design consultant to Ace Design, Sausalito, California,
project coordinator for the City of Monterey. Established historical
information stands at five critical Cannery Row historic and literary sites.
