space behind the Lab had been covered by a slant-roofed shed protecting the tanks.

The tanks stored speciments awaiting processing or study.

An overcast day on Monterey Bay as seen from the rear deck of the Lab. The footings seen are from the hotel construction  begun next door in the early 1980s at the Del Mar Cannery site.
